Road reopens after Rothwell gas leak
The road closure affected part of the B576, Desborough Road, through Rothwell.

A road closure and safety cordon put in place in Rothwell following a gas leak have now been lifted.

Fire crews were called to Rothwell Medical Centre, in Desborough Road, at 10.55am today, Tuesday, January 22, after a vehicle collided with the building’s gas main, located in the surgery car park.

Northamptonshire Police also attended to manage the road closure, which affected Desborough Road, the B576.

Gas engineers attended to make the scene safe, isolating the gas supply and allowing and the road to reopen shortly after 1pm.

Patient appointments at the medical centre were moved to Desborough Surgery for the day. Further information is available from the practice website: www.rdhg.co.uk
