Open day fun set to be hosted at Mereway Fire Station

Emergency Services Cadets lined up

Firefighters will be showcasing their rescue techniques as part of demonstrations during an open day to be held at Mereway Fire Station.

The demonstrations, which will also feature drills by the Northamptonshire Emergency Services Cadets, will form just part of the day’s attractions.

The event, which will run from 11am until 3pm on Sunday, August 11, will include a variety of entertainments for visitors.

There will be the opportunity to see police and fire vehicles up close and meet some police dogs.

Children can enjoy a bouncy castle and the event will also feature a smoke house as well as stalls to visit, ice-cream and refreshments.

Cadet leader Katie Alland, one of the organisers, said: “This is the first open day I have helped to organise at the station and I am really looking forward to welcoming in the local community to visit us for a fun day out.
“This not only gives us a chance to meet the local public but also will give them the chance to find out a bit more about what we do, while helping us raise funds for a worthy cause.”

Entry to the event is a suggested 50p donation, with all proceeds going to The Fire Fighters Charity.

Mereway Fire Station can be found in Mereway, Northampton (NN4 8BW). No parking is available at the station.
